Paul Houghton BSc (Hons), LLB (Hons), MA, MRTPI

Paul has been involved with planning and property development for over 23 years in both the public and private sectors and has secured planning permissions for numerous retail, commercial, office, industrial, mixed use, residential and renewables developments across Scotland and England. He is based in Dunblane, Stirling, but is involved in planning applications and appeals across Scotland.

He has been involved in circa 100 planning inquiries and informal hearings in England and Scotland as a witness and also occasionally as an advocate. He regularly submits planning appeals and local reviews in Scotland for all types of development from single houses in the countryside to major commercial and residential developments.

As well as working for individuals and small companies, Paul has experience of working on major projects for companies including Sainsbury’s, Aldi, British Land, Bellway Homes, Redrow Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Bupa Care Services and many others.

Paul was the Office Director of Alliance Planning (Glasgow) and prior to that Turley Associates (Glasgow). Before that he worked in house building, for Ryden Property Consultants in Scotland and as a planning consultant and in local government in England.

He spends his spare time with his family, walking, occasionally Munro bagging and running.
